Recruiting Global Healthcare Stakeholders for Corneal Disease Research
Delivering specialist clinical and payer insights across 15 international markets.
This case study highlights how IDR supported a global healthcare research program by recruiting specialist ophthalmologists and payer stakeholders across 15 international markets. Through a combination of qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, the study generated valuable insights into corneal endothelial disease management, treatment pathways and market access considerations within a complex ophthalmology category.
Overview
A global life sciences consultancy partnered with IDR to support a multi-country research initiative focused on corneal endothelial disease management. The study sought to capture perspectives from both healthcare professionals and payer stakeholders to better understand current treatment approaches, patient management practices and reimbursement considerations.
Given the specialist nature of the therapeutic area and the global scope of the project, recruitment required careful audience identification across multiple stakeholder groups, healthcare systems and international markets.
What We Did
Global recruitment across 15 healthcare markets: IDR recruited ophthalmologists actively involved in diagnosing, treating, or referring patients with corneal endothelial disease, alongside payer stakeholders responsible for reimbursement and healthcare access decisions.
The project spanned 15 countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, requiring coordinated recruitment and fieldwork management across multiple markets simultaneously.
Mixed-methodology research delivery
The study combined quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to provide a comprehensive understanding of disease management and payer perspectives.
IDR delivered:
- 30 quantitative surveys with HCPs and payers
- 28 in-depth qualitative interviews
- Recruitment across 15 global markets
- Specialist clinical and reimbursement stakeholders
- End-to-end participant screening, scheduling and engagement
Outcome
The project successfully engaged 58 qualified stakeholders across 15 countries, providing the client with robust global insights into clinical practice, treatment pathways and reimbursement considerations.
By combining specialist healthcare recruitment expertise with global project delivery capabilities, IDR helped the client generate high-quality evidence to support market access evaluation, market prioritization and future launch planning within a highly specialized ophthalmology category.
