Overview 

A healthcare client commissioned IDR to produce a custom report examining the payor environment for NGS in Kazakhstan. The goal was to understand current usage, reimbursement potential, and policy dynamics at both national and regional levels. 

The insights would inform market entry strategy, stakeholder engagement, and investment planning. 

What We Did 

• Stakeholder Engagement: Recruited senior decision-makers from the Ministry of Health, the Government Procurement Committee, and regional health authorities. 
• Qualitative Interviews: Conducted 60-minute in-depth interviews covering NGS use, funding, policy evaluation, and systemic barriers. 
• Custom Reporting: Delivered a tailored report with key findings, policy context, and actionable insights grounded in local payor perspectives. 

Outcome 

The report revealed that NGS adoption remains limited and inconsistent, with no formal reimbursement pathways and low system-wide readiness. Barriers included funding, infrastructure, and awareness. 

However, growing interest in precision medicine and diagnostic innovation—especially in oncology—signaled clear opportunities for future engagement. 

The client gained a focused, evidence-based view of the payer landscape to support strategic planning.
